Ritual for the Flower Full Moon
Flower Mandalas for the Spring Full Moon
On May 5th, around 8 PM, the moon will be full in the second spring full moon, known as the Flower Moon. Fully inspired by its thematic name, dear friends, we bring you a few suggestions on how to celebrate this lunar occasion and once again harness the spring "drive."
Let’s surround ourselves with flowers and bring spring vibrations into our lives. This time, we invite the mineral fluorite (in any shape or size) to assist us.
Fluorite resonates with the throat and heart centers, encouraging us to express our creativity. Throughout the day, try singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument, or engage in creative play with children. If you wish, draw an intuitive picture on paper or in your mind. Let’s be creative and celebrate these days with both inner and outer dance, listening to the inner voice of our souls while keeping our sparkling fluorite nearby.
If you want to create a flower mandala, gather flowers during the day that you would like to use in your evening ritual. Notice the songs of birds and insects, the rustling of leaves and stalks, and the overall manifestations of nature that burst forth each spring with full vigor. Throughout the day, be aware of where you want to direct your spring will for change and fulfillment. You can visualize this intention and perhaps even draw it, incorporating your drawing into your full moon altar.
Evening Ritual:
Prepare everything you plan to use for the ritual nearby (fluorite, flowers, stones, drawings, musical instruments). Open a window, step into your garden, or go to a natural place where you feel safe and want to enjoy your practice.
Take three deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Calm yourself, clear your mind, and listen to the rhythm of your heart. Hold the fluorite in your hands or bring it close to your chest, throat, or forehead, and raise it above your head. Try to feel your connection with the fluorite and become aware of the feelings you experience. You may also envision the feelings you wish to experience and let your imagination carry you away. Now, breathe into your stone the way you want to live, your most beautiful visions and secret wishes, creating as if there were no fears or doubts.
After this concentration phase, place your fluorite in a beautiful and safe spot, where you will arrange the mandala using flowers, stones, pine cones, and other natural elements, creating a living drawing of the flow of energy. Feel free to express yourself through movement as well—why not? Spin around with the fluorite in your hands or dance with it. You might weave a crown of dandelions and place the fluorite in the center, expressing your joy and spontaneity.
Once you’ve created your work, your mandala of life, leave it alone for a while so that moonlight can shine on it. Step back and close your ritual today by thanking Mother Earth through the mineral and Mother Moon through the power of light. You can also smudge the mandala and yourself with fragrant smoke or essence. If you can, leave your mandala as is until morning; if not, after a while, remove your stone from the center and leave the mandala as an "energetic imprint" on the Earth for your destiny.
We wish you a beautiful and uplifting spiritual practice!
