CEREMONIAL MESA BLANKET – WAYLLA

This sacred cloth is handmade by Q'ero women from Peru. It is crafted for us by the family of the shaman "Juan Huarhua Pillco" from the Quero tribe of Cusco. In this region, secret initiates have managed to preserve the oldest core of Andean mystical practices.

This woven fabric is the perfect base for all types of personal altars (Mes). The sacred altar cloth, called "manta" or "mesamanta" in Peru, is made from alpaca and natural fibers. It is dyed exclusively with natural and plant-based dyes and pigments.

The blanket naturally reflects much of the symbolism of Andean cosmology. They are embroidered with geometric patterns and traditional symbols such as coca leaves, potato flowers, spiders, snakes, condors, hummingbirds, or sacred mountains, lakes, and stars.

These symbols are magical and have been passed down from generation to generation among all native Andean peoples. In addition to their energetic function, the blankets are also aesthetically pleasing and luxurious due to their natural color tones and the highest-quality handwoven material. The overall impression is further enhanced by the neat seams along the edges of the fabric.

The main functions of the shamanic blanket include:

- A base layer for the “mesa” (shamanic altar)
- A foundation for shamanic tools and symbolic magical objects
- A mat for traditional coca leaf divination
- A base for preparing harmonizing substances (ayahuasca, wachuma, etc.)
